GRANVILLE, Ohio–  For the second time this season, the Denison men's swimming team faced Xavier University, this time for its home opening meet, beating the Musketeers 171-91. Denison finished the day with 11 first-place finishes and 27 top-three finishes, including a Big Red Sweep in the 200-yard medley relay.

Three members of the Big Red squad paced Denison to victory with 18 points apiece: Asher Cole, George Goins, and Nick Hensel. Cole, George Goins, and Hensel each stood atop the podium twice, with Cole taking first in the 100 and 200-yard fly. George Goins won the 500 and 1000-yard free, and Hensel rounded out the three top point earners by taking first in the 100 free and 100-yard breast.

Other first-place finishers include Ben Bevill, who swam the 100-yard back in 50.78; first-year Kale Chow, who swam a 1:53.44 200 IM; and senior Jack Hill, who earned a first-place finish after swimming the 200-yard free in 1:40.97.

Denison kicked off the dual against the Musketeers with a relay sweep in the 200-yard medley relay. Ben Bevill, Jack Hill, Cam Blevins-Mohr, and Nick Hensel finished first in 1:31.21. Luke Swiggett, Tim Jensen, Asher Cole, and Natan Silva finished second in 1:32.54. Ethan Killam, Jimmy Rogers, Grant Goins, and Harry Parsons finished third in 1:32.84. As they did at the start, the Big Red wrapped up the meet with two more top-three finishes in the 200-yard free relay. Hensel, Hill, George Goins, and Parsons finished first in 1:21.73, followed by Jensen, Blevins-Mohr, Silva, and Grant Goins coming in third with a time of 1:24.59
