Granville, Ohio – Denison Big Red men's soccer scored in the opening two minutes but couldn't find a second goal, settling for a 1-1 draw with DePauw on Wednesday afternoon at Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium. It was the Big Red's sixth draw of the season, tying for the most in a single season since 2024.
Sophomore forward
Henry Gallun got Denison on the board in the 2nd minute (1:28 on the clock), finishing off an assist from senior midfielder
Miles Crosser for his third goal of the season, which ties him with
Jack Rice for the team lead. DePauw answered in the 28th minute to level the match at 1-1 and it stayed that way through the final whistle. The Big Red had chances down the stretch, but could not capitalize on the offensive end of the pitch.
Denison controlled the match from start to finish, out-shooting DePauw 12-7 and holding a 10-1 edge in corner kicks, including eight in the second half alone. The Big Red put four shots on goal and drew a pair of saves late, as Gallun and sophomore midfielder
Lowen Jamison each tested the DePauw goalkeeper in the final five minutes. Sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Provost made three saves, all of them in the first half, to keep the match level.
Denison moves to 5-1-6 overall and 1-0-2 in NCAC play. The Big Red hit the road next, traveling to Wittenberg on Saturday, October 17, at 2 p.m.
