Crawfordsville, Ind. – Junior midfielder
Colin MacDonald scored twice in the first half to lead Denison Big Red men's soccer to a 3-1 win at Wabash on Wednesday afternoon at Mud Hollow Stadium. It was the Big Red's fourth straight win.
MacDonald opened the scoring in the 27th minute to give Denison a 1-0 lead. Nine minutes later, in the 37th minute, he scored again, this time off passes from forward
Will Hallis and sophomore
Julian Bozzolo. The two goals gave MacDonald four on the season. Denison went into the break up 2-0.
First-year midfielder
Lowen Jamison made it 3-0 in the 56th minute with his third goal of the year. Wabash cut the deficit late with a goal in the 82nd minute, but the Big Red held on.
Junior goalkeeper
Ronan Kiter made two saves in goal. Denison and Wabash each took 10 shots, and the Big Red held a 6-3 edge in shots on goal and an 11-8 edge in corner kicks.
The win moves Denison to 9-1-6 overall and 5-0-2 in NCAC play. The Big Red has not lost in 10 straight games.
Denison has also locked up a home game in the NCAC Semifinals, and the Big Red can clinch the NCAC title this weekend. A win over Oberlin on Saturday, October 31, at 2:30 p.m. at Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium, combined with a Kenyon loss or tie, would give Denison the conference title.
