Volleyball Awarded Team Academic Award from American Volleyball Coaches Association

Lexington, Ky.- The 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award honorees have been released, and Denison University volleyball was one of over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs to maintain a year-long team GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, earning them a spot on the annual academic award list.

This year, 232 women's college volleyball programs earned the AVCA Team Academic Award; Denison, along with DePauw, John Carroll, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan, Wooster, and Wittenberg, were the six North Coast Athletic Conference institutions representing the conference

The association's mission is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The membership includes more than 10,000 collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches, primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's, men's, and beach volleyball coaches and works to increase exposure and recognition for the sport of volleyball.

Denison opens the 2026 season on Tuesday, September 1, at home inside Livingston Gymnasium. The Big Red will take on the Pioneers of Marietta College at 7 p.m.
