Cedarville, Ohio - The Denison women's cross country team placed eighth out of 24 teams Friday at the All-Ohio Inter-Collegiate Classic, hosted by Cedarville University, finishing amongst multiple Division I and II schools. The Big Red tallied 195 points, while Cincinnati took first with 24. First-year Maggie Jewell finished first for the Big Red, her second time doing so this season.

How It Shook Out

• First-year Maggie Jewell led the Big Red, placing 26th with a time of 23:25.1.
• Sophomore Hanna Hack was next across the line for Denison, finishing 43rd in 23:48.8.
• Senior Fiona Martinelli was right behind her, placing 44th in 23:49.3, and junior Floralysse Biteau finished 58th with a time of 24:02.1.
• A trio of first-years rounded out the group, as Emily Harrington (65th, 24:08.1), Orla Muir (94th, 24:39.2), and Sophia Byrne (100th, 24:41.5) all finished inside the top-100.

The Big Red faced competition from across multiple divisions, including Kent State, Cincinnati, and Cleveland State from Division I. Ohio Dominican, Walsh, Central State, and Ashland capped the Division II squads.

Denison heads to Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday, October 2, to compete in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University.
