CLEVELAND, Ohio - On Tuesday, September 22, Denison University saw its second week of the fall season in which the Big Red earned three different Athlete of the Week awards from the NCAC. Football junior defensive back Cole Harris and field hockey sophomore Lulu Keil earned their first honors of the fall, while sophomore Will Jackson of the men's cross country program earned his second Athlete of the Week award. 

Cole Harris | Junior | Football
Harris played an integral role in Denison's 38-0 shutout over the College of Wooster on Saturday, playing ball-hawking secondary with two interceptions. Harris picked off a pass in the first quarter and repeated the success in the third, with his third-quarter theft leading to a Denison touchdown. The junior defensive back also had four tackles in the win, as the Big Red recorded their second consecutive shutout, a feat last accomplished in 2024. 

Will Jackson | Sophomore | Men's Cross Country
At the All-Ohio Invitational hosted by Cedarville on Friday, Will Jackson ran a 20-second PR on the 8k course. He was seventh overall at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Classic and the third-finishing NCAA D3 athlete, leading all NCAC competition. Jackson ran a 25:30.3 and helped Denison to a fifth-place finish in the event.

Lulu Keil | Sophomore | Field Hockey
In Denison's 8-1 victory over Wooster to open the week, Keil scored two goals and dished out two assists for six points. She later scored what stood as the game-winning goal and recorded four assists in Denison's 6-3 victory at Marian (Wis.) on Saturday, and in the week's finale Sunday, she scored two of the four goals in the team's 4-0 victory against Concordia (Wis.). Over the course of the week, Keil's 16 points have helped the team improve to a 4-2 record.

The field hockey program looks ahead to Family Weekend this Saturday, hosting Ohio Wesleyan on September 26th at 11:00 a.m. Field hockey also hosts Centre College on Sunday, September 27th at 11:00 a.m. Football joins field hockey in the Family Weekend festivities, also hosting Ohio Wesleyan this coming Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The cross country program will head to the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, October 2nd, with the men's race starting at 3:30 and the women's race starting at 4:15.
