Granville, Ohio – Denison Big Red women's soccer shut out Ohio Northern, 2-0, on a Tuesday evening at Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium, getting goals from first-year defender

Mara McGlone. The win moves the Big Red to 3-2-2 on the season, while the Polar Bears drop to 2-3-2.
Abedi broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, finding the back of the net for her first goal of the season to give Denison a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The Big Red doubled their advantage in the second half, as McGlone buried a feed from senior midfielder Mattie Mielke off a corner kick in the 65th minute for her second goal of the season, sealing the 2-0 result.
Denison controlled play throughout, outshooting Ohio Northern 17-12, including a 12-5 edge in shots on goal. The Big Red defense and a pair of goalkeepers, junior Caroline Hague, Â and first-year

With the win, Denison improves to 3-2-2 on the season, while Ohio Northern falls to 2-3-2. The Big Red host No. 11 Case Western Reserve on Saturday, September 26, for Senior Day at Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium.
