10/2/2026 2:53:00 PM

Bethlehem, Pa. - The Denison men's cross country team was able to see a good portion of the squad compete in the morning slate, as the afternoon races of the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University were canceled due to heat. The morning 6k and 8k open races, along with the Gold 6k and 8k were able to commence, but with extreme heat, the White 6k and 8k races were canceled, which the Big Red were slated to compete in. Junior Phinnigan Spindler finished first out of the Big Red bunch to lead the group.

The open race would consist of runners across all divisions, providing stiff competition across all levels. Spindler paced the Big Red with a time of 28:06.6 for a season-best, while junior Jack Evans produced a season-best of 28:16.4. First-year James Dillon (28:20.1) and sophomore Ivan Panov (28:35.7) finished third and fourth on the team, respectively. Sophomore Rosario Scarato rounded out the top-five with a time of 29:02.2. Oliver Horsley (31:08.6) finished with a new season-best, along with a personal-best.
