2026 Season Preview: Women's Golf

Coming off their sixth consecutive NCAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, the Denison women's golf team looks to ride that momentum once again into 2026.

2025-26 Recap

The fall season saw the Big Red face some tough competition from around the country, as they won the Transylvania Fall Invitational and placed second in the home Lynn Schweizer Invitational. After a sizable winter break, the team got right back to it, finishing in the top-10 in three of their events, while winning the Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate hosted by Wittenberg University. At the NCAC Championship, the Big Red had it their way in each round, controlling the pace and keeping momentum through each day. The end result was yet again another championship, and another trip to the NCAA Championship. Playing at the Mountain View Course in Palm Desert, California, Denison competed hard in Round One of the tourney, but would fall short in Round Two, ultimately being cut and placing 19th.

Team Roundup

A small but experienced group will head into the fall season for the Big Red, as the team will feature two first-years, one sophomore, one junior, and two seniors. Although on the smaller end roster-wise, this squad brings much-needed leadership and poise for this year.

Key Returners

The group graduated just two seniors from the 2026 graduating class, and four of them return from the NCAA Championship lineup. Rising seniors Natalia Fanucchi and Lizzy Grant have been massive contributors to the starting lineup, as Fanucchi brought in a plethora of awards such as NCAC All-Tournament and first team All-NCAC. She led the Big Red with an average score of 76.2 on the season. Grant played in all 10 tournaments, posting an average score of 79.3 for the Big Red. Her lowest round of the season would come at the Transylvania Fall Invitational, where she shot a 71 (-2). Rising junior Siena Maschke has been dominant in her first two seasons at Denison, being named to the NCAC All-Tournament team and first team All-NCAC for her efforts. Maschke placed first at the Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate, and had an average score of 78.6 on the year.
