FARMINGTON, Pa.- After a two-week break, the Denison women's golf team finished 13th at the 2026 Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon at the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pa. The invitational was a three-round tournament: 36 holes on day one and the final 18 on day two, with a course yardage of 5,633. Denison finished the two days with a team score of 944 (+80 | 306-316-322); Emory University finished in the top spot this year with a team score of 846.

 

Round one (5633 yds | Par 72)

First-year Jiyyaa Sharma shot her best round of the season, leading the Big Red in the first round of competition, shooting 74 (+2). Just behind her was senior Natalia Fanucchi, who rattled off three birdies for a first-round score of 76 (+4). Also knocking in three birdies to open the invite was Tatum Platt, who was +6 with a first-round score of 78, and rounding out the top four was Anais Oge, who tallied two birdies and finished the first 18 with an 80 (+8).

Sharma continued to find success throughout day one of competition, scoring a 76 (+4) in round two, this time firing off two birdies. Three strokes behind her was fellow first-year Platt, who shot 79 (+7). Oge improved across day one, tallying a birdie and the team's lone eagle for a 79 (+7). Fanucchi remained in the top four in round two, shooting an 82 (+10).

On day two, round three, senior duo Fanucchi and Grant shot 79 (+7), with Grant recording a birdie. Sharma and Platt each finished round three with a score of 82 (+10), with both posting a birdie. Across the three rounds, Denison tallied 20 birdies, with Oge and Platt putting up five apiece.

Denison will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 19 for the NCAA Preview, hosted by Christopher Newport. The Big Red will head to Williamsburg, Va., to compete on the River Course at Kingsmill.
