BEREA, Ohio- Following their impressive tie against No. 15 Johns Hopkins yesterday, the Denison women's soccer team came up short in its 1-0 loss to Baldwin Wallace on Sunday. With today's loss, the Big Red moves to 2-2-1 for the season, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-3 for the year.
The Big Red came out firing to open the first half. Though neither team scored throughout the first 45 minutes of regulation, Denison held a nine-to-three edge in shots, with seven shots on goal.
With the game knotted up at zero coming out of halftime, the Yellow Jackets got on the board following a goal off a corner kick attempt, four minutes into the second half. That goal in the 49th minute of play would ultimately be all that Baldwin Wallace needed to secure its win over the Big Red.
Despite the loss, Denison outshot its opponent 22-to-6, 15 of which were on goal, and finished the day with three corner kicks, while giving up three on its defensive end. In goal, Caroline Hague tallied four saves, after facing six on the day.

Up Next for the Big Red
Denison travels to Danville, Ky., on Friday, September 18, to take on the Colonels of Centre College. The two teams take to the pitch at 6 p.m.
