GRANVILLE, Ohio — In a battle of unbeatens, the Big Red, led by Henry Gallun's late strike, was able to tie the match against No. 17 Otterbein 1-1. Denison is now 3-0-2 on the year, while Otterbein is 3-0-1.
 

The first half opened with a physical stretch, as the teams combined for seven fouls by 10:32. Otterbein also earned corner kicks at 5:38 and 10:01. The Big Red generated their first look at 11:04 when Eli Taylor forced Otterbein's keeper into a save to the bottom right. Still, Otterbein followed with a corner at 13:17, with two shot attempts saved by Alex Provost at 16:03. The half tightened again later with two yellow cards coming against the Cardinals. Otterbein broke through at 39:49 with a header to leave the Big Red trailing 1-0 into halftime. 
 

Otterbein generated the first notable second-half chances, forcing Provost into saves on shots early in the half. After yellow cards to both squads, the Big Red pressed while trailing 1-0, with Kaden Kist putting a shot on frame at 78:16 and the Big Red earning corners at 81:35 and 82:18 before attempts by Gallun, Crow, Rice and Kist. Then, with a cross from Rice that snaked through the defense, Gallun was able to sneak a shot in the left post of the goal, tying the match 1-1 in the 86th minute. Otterbein had corners at 88:04 and 88:39 as the match ended, but the Big Red defense held strong and ended the game tied 1-1.
 

Gallun scored a game-tying goal and put one of his two shots on frame. Rice recorded the assist and added two shots. Provost played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with three saves.
 

Up next, the Big Red travel to Danville, Kentucky, to face Centre College on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. at Amend Field.
