MEQUON, Wis.- Denison field hockey extends its win streak to four, after defeating Concordia (Wis.) 4-0 on the road. The Big Red improves to 4-2 for the season, while the Falcons drop to 2-4.Â
Reilly Desmond put Denison on the board in the eighth minute of the first quarter, and the Big Red held that one-goal lead through the second quarter. With a 1-0 lead coming out of halftime, the Big Red scored its second goal in the 44th minute when first-year Abigail Hyatt connected with Lulu Keil, putting Denison up 2-0. The Big Red tallied two more goals in the fourth quarter, with Emma Gebhart scoring the third on a solo shot and Keil scoring the fourth and final goal of the day in the final 20 seconds of regulation, after gathering a pass from Caroline Struzziero.Â
Denison finished the afternoon with 24 shots, 17 on goal, while allowing just four shots on its defensive end. Madden Phelps was in the cage for the Big Red and recorded a clean sheet.Â
