Granville, Ohio – Denison Big Red men's soccer battled Carnegie Mellon, which was receiving votes in the national rankings, to a 1-1 draw on Senior Day at Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium.
Carnegie Mellon broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, putting the Tartans ahead 1-0. Denison held them there for the remainder of the half and into the second, before junior forward Jack Rice leveled the match in the 81st minute, converting a feed from junior forward
Emmett O'Brien to make it 1-1.

Denison was outshot 16-15 on the day but held a slight edge in shots on goal, 6-6. Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Provost turned in a strong Senior Day performance, making five saves to help the Big Red salvage the point.
With the result, Denison moves to 4-1-3 on the season, while Carnegie Mellon falls to 6-1-2. The Big Red hit the road next, traveling to face The College of Wooster on Saturday, October 3, in their NCAC opener.
