Women’s Tennis Kicks Off Season Hosting Big Red Invite

Box Score GRANVILLE, Ohio- In their fall home opener, the Denison women's tennis team dominated its opponents, finishing the weekend with an overall record of 25-9. Senior Dasha Chistyakova led the Big Red in victories, going a perfect 5-0 over the weekend between singles and doubles play. First-years Olivia Akers and Madeline Bradshaw also finished the two days undefeated in singles.

The Big Red dominated the Hornets, going undefeated in both singles and doubles, 8-0. Against Centre, the Big Red split in doubles, with Chistyakova and Rafaella Ramos picking up a big win, and swept the Colonels in singles. Denison barely edged out Case Western in singles and doubles, holding a slight 3-2 advantage in doubles, while picking up six out of the 11 matches in singles play.

Bradshaw, Akers, Chistyakova, and Sophia Gallagher all finished the weekend undefeated in singles, while Ramos, Chistyakova, Ariana Rodriguez, and Maddie Larsen went perfect in doubles.

Denison travels to Gambier, Ohio, Sept. 19-20 to take part in the Kenyon Invite hosted by Kenyon College.
