GRANVILLE, Ohio- The Denison men's golf team opened its fall campaign at home, hosting the program's annual Ted Barclay Invitational. The Big Red finished tied for fourth in a field of 14 and finished the weekend with the third most birdies, 25. Denison also found themselves in the top three in par-three and five-hole scoring, due in large part to Jack Pelletier and Ryan Toole finishing with 26 and 25 pars, respectively.
Round one (6507 yds | Par 71)
On the first day of competition, the Big Red faced a rain delay, which pushed the competition to mid-morning. In round one of the invitational, Jack Pelletier led the charge for the Big Red, finishing the day two under par and tied for second place. Behind Pelletier was Ryan Toole, who finished round one tied for 13th place after shooting one over par. Rounding out the top four for Denison was Will McCarthy, who finished tied for 33rd, and Joe Brasky, who finished round one five over par for 40th place.
The Big Red finished tied for second in the field of competition in birdies with 15. Pelletier and Brasky tied for the most birdies on the team after tallying four birdies apiece.

The Big Red kept the pace into round two, with individualist Alex Sheehan posting the best round in the group at 73 (+2) to finish tied-33rd. Pelletier finished the highest out of the squad, placing tied-12th with a score of 75 (+4) and a birdie. Also landing in the top-20 was Toole, placing tied-19th at four over par and a birdie himself. The biggest jump of the tournament belonged to Rocket Servick, who went from 67th to 44th, shooting a 74 (+3) in the second round with four birdies to cap off his invitational. McCarthy (74, +3) and Brasky (77, +6) finished in the top-50, while Howard finished his round shooting an 81 (+10).
The Big Red ranked in the top-three among teams in par three and par five scoring, and had 25 birdies as a group, good for third in the tournament.
