NORMAN, Okla. (July 26, 2022) – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) recognized the Denison University men's golf team as an All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 season. The Big Red were one of 28 schools from NCAA Division III with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Last week, seniors Marc Mitchell and Ben Scherman were both named 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars (3.2 GPA) for the third time in their careers.

At the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship, Denison moved up two spots after the final round to finish as the conference runner-up behind only Kenyon College. Denison's leader throughout the tournament was Scherman, who finished in a four-player tie for fifth place at 12-over-par and was named first-team all-conference. After the season, Mitchell was then recognized as an NCAA Division III PING All-Region honoree for the third time in his career.

Denison earned five top-five team finishes during the regular season, including team championships at the Denison Fall Invitational and then in their final tournament of the regular season at the NCAC/OAC Clash.

The new 2022-23 Denison men's golf season will start on Saturday, September 3, and Sunday, September 4, with the Ted Barclay Invitational at the Denison Golf Club.
